NAB files land grabbing reference against 9 accused including ex-CDA officials

The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Tuesday filed a land-grabbing reference against nine accused, including former Capital Development Authority (CDA) officials and others, in NAB Court, reported 24NewsHDTV Channel.
It was stated in the reference that Syed Ghulam Hassanuddin and others were allotted illegal land in Sector E-11 by some former CDA officials, after which an inquiry was conducted on April 20, 2016.
On 8th June 2018, the inquiry was converted into an investigation. Some officials of CDA who were involved in this illegal allotment of land scam also enjoyed some benefits.
On February 21, 2024, during the investigation, Ghulam Hasamuddin and three other women filed a plea bargain application.
The reference stated that plea bargaining is also credible evidence about the involvement of the accused in the illegal allotment scam.
As per the record, this case is about corruption and corrupt practices, and all accused should be awarded exemplary punishment after a fair trial, the reference concluded as saying.
