Trawler hits van in Karak; 12 killed

At least 12 people were killed and eight others injured in a horrific collision between a trawler and a passenger van in the Karak district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, reported 24NewsHD TV Channel on Tuesday.
According to rescue officials, the tragic incident occurred on the Indus Highway near Lucky Ghandaki in Karak. All 12 fatalities occurred at the scene, while rescue teams transported the injured to nearby medical facilities.
Rescue sources reported that several injured passengers were trapped inside the wreckage, and an active rescue operation was underway to retrieve them. Authorities fear the death toll may rise further.
In a separate incident in Haripur, a passenger coach overturned on the motorway near Shah Maqsood. According to the Motorway Police, two passengers died while at least 20 others were injured, including three foreign nationals.
Police said the coach was en route from Gilgit to Rawalpindi when it met with the accident. The unfortunate mishap was reportedly caused by the driver falling asleep at the wheel.
