Former fast bowler Aaqib Javed has called for the resumption of cricket despite the coronavirus pandemic, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.

Aaqib Javed who had represented Pakistan in 22 Test matches said that if there is no more cricket in a few months then all cricket boards could go bankrupt therefore cricket has to start with precautionary measures.

Aaqib Javed further added that the officials and players should be tested and kept in one place. Before leaving on any tour including England which has been badly hit by the coronavirus, the players should be tested again.

Even after reaching England, players and officials should be quarantined. Instead of an empty stadium having 30,000 capacity, only 5,000 spectators should be allowed to come in the stadium.

“Corona test should be made mandatory for the spectators and let them come to the stadium after checking the fever. If cricket activities are not started then maybe the boards could go bankrupt.”
