The decision on Azam Swati’s bail application could not be taken even today (Friday) as the new judge who will hear the PTI senator’s case has not assumed the charge of his duty so far, reported 24NewsHD TV Channel.
Reportedly, the court could not take up the Swati’s application seeking post-arrest bail in a controversial tweet case as the new Special Judge Central Azam Khan has not taken the charge of his office yet.
The special prosecutor Raja Rizwan Abbasi and PTI lawyer Babar Awan left the court when the court proceedings were not held.
Swati’s son Usman Swati who filed his bail petition also came to the court.
Special Judge Raja Asif, who has been transferred, had reserved the judgement on the case after hearing arguments.
On Dec 14, the decision on Swati’s bail petition was deferred till Dec 16 when Judge Raja Asif relinquished the charge of his duties as his services were assigned to the Islamabad High Court.
The law ministry appointed Azam Khan as the new special judge central and issued a notification in this regard.
