Four Echo machines of LHG out of order

Lahore General Hospital (LGH) is lacking the Echo test facility causing immense problems to heart patients, reported 24News HD TV Channel on Friday.

Unfortunately, the tertiary care hospital has four modern echocardiography machines that have been out of order for the quite some time, causing colossal hardships to the patients, but hospital authorities, instead of tackling the problem, seem as sleeping over the matter.

The doctors serving in the emergency and cardiac units are referring serious patients suffering from cardiovascular diseases to other nearby private laboratories and clinics for echo purposes.  Moreover, scores of non-affording patients visiting the hospital from remote areas wishing for echo-cardiograph are forced to go to private laboratories.

Echo machines have been kept in ICU, medical units, and emergency but are not being operated, sources said.
