Historic breakthrough: Lahore receives first-ever artificial rain

In a groundbreaking development regarding environmental innovation, Lahore has experienced its maiden artificial rain, the 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Saturday.

The careful orchestration of this unprecedented endeavor with the help of UAE resulted in a light but significant rainfall across ten areas of Lahore, marking a triumph in the realm of meteorological innovation, Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi announced while talking to the media.

Naqvi clarified that no additional funds were allocated for this initiative, and he expressed willingness to spend money if needed to combat smog.

Rainfall occurred in approximately 10 areas of Lahore, covering a planned region of 10 to 15 km.

Naqvi lauding the success of the first-ever Lahore artificial rain experiment, reiterated the meticulous planning that went into the initiative.

He expressed gratitude to the Environment Department and the entire UAE team for their exhaustive scrutiny of the process, culminating in the eagerly awaited results.

Detailing the procedure, Naqvi disclosed that 48 flares were deployed for cloud seeding, specifically targeting the Shahdara area.

Remarkably, he emphasized that not a single rupee from Punjab’s coffers was spent on this groundbreaking achievement, crediting the UAE Government for their support in making the artificial rain project a reality.

The geographical focus of the rain, strategically concentrated within a radius of ten to fifteen kilometers in Lahore, reflects the precision and effectiveness of the experiment.

Naqvi proudly announced that the results elevated Lahore from last night’s rank to the top spot in terms of rainfall.

Remaining vigilant and proactive, the caretaker Chief Minister highlighted that the monitoring and alertness began as early as nine o’clock in the morning, emphasizing an ongoing commitment to the success of the artificial rain initiative.
