Members of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) team who made artificial rain in Lahore possible called on Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Wednesday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.


During the meeting, Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi went to the seats of the UAE team members, shook hands and thanked them individually.


Among those who met were Ahmed Al Kamal, Head of Cloud Seeding of the United Arab Emirates NCM Team, Pilot Col. Obaid Halaf, Pilot Michael Anstis, Head of Cloud Seeding Department Abdullah Al Haman and Arnold Ningala and Verglottoledolato.


Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi awarded certificates of appreciation and commemorative shields to all members of the UAE team.


Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi thanked the UAE team for showering artificial rain in Lahore for the first time in the history of Pakistan and expressed his best wishes for them.


Talking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said that the successful experiment of artificial rain by the United Arab Emirates team will always be remembered by the entire Pakistan.


He said that for the last 12 years, efforts were being made for artificial rain in Punjab including Lahore.


Every citizen of Pakistan was happy and excited to see the first artificial rain in the country's history in Lahore, said Mohsin Naqvi.


The CM said that Lahore's first artificial rain was appreciated not only in Pakistan but all over the world and names of the UAE team members have become a part of history.


It was hoped that there would be artificial rain again, but the weather did not cooperate, Mohsin Naqvi said.


The Chief Minister said that the UAE team stayed in Lahore for 2 months, this is a great example of brotherhood and our mutual relations.


Artificial rain is the best technology to reduce environmental pollution and improve production, said Mohsin Naqvi.


Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi sent the UAE team away from the Chief Minister's Office in a warm manner and once again thanked them.


Provincial Environment Minister Bilal Afzal, Chairman Planning and Development Board, Secretary Environment, Chief Meteorologist, Army Aviation Officers, Environment Protection Officials, Director Environment Protection, Commissioner Lahore and other officials were also present on this occasion.
