The government on Monday issued an intelligence health advisory, saying the second wave of the coronavirus pandemic is severer than the first one.

The advisory says the number of coronavirus patients has increased from two percent to six percent in six weeks and 500 to 2,000 cases are being reported every day.

The advisory recommends measures at the national level to curb the spread of the fatal virus. It says that events like wedding ceremonies and religious and political gatherings should be banned. It says that schools, madrassas, shrines, cinema halls and theatres should be closed and students should be sent on vacation.

The advisory said that wearing a mask should be made mandatory at markets, people violating coronavirus SOPs should be fined, testing kits should be purchased on a large scale and testing should be increased in high-risk areas.
