Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto has reiterated the resolve to continue the campaign for parliamentary sovereignty.
Speaking at Gujranwala’s Jinnah Stadium, the PPP chief came down hard on PM Imran Khan for leaving the people in the lurch.
Crises of sugar, wheat, price hikes of vegetable and fruit as well as utility stuff have been plaguing the country for the last two years, Bilawal said, adding that factories and mills have been shut and labourers who build houses are deprived of shelter and farmers of wheat have nothing to feed his family.
He also criticised the Punjab government for failure to deliver. About the anti-corruption campaign, he stressed the need for across-the-board accountability and insisted judges and generals should also get through the process. Imran Khan asked FIA to give clean-chit to his friend Bilawal said, adding that how Aleema Baji became rich through sewing machines.
He questioned former president Pervez Musharaf’s stay abroad. Bilawal lashed out at Imran for breaking the promises he made during the election campaign, including 5 million houses, economic growth without approaching IMF and WB.
About IHK, Bilawal said Imran Khan ‘sealed a deal with India’ over Kashmir. He said the ‘selected PM’ is a ‘supporter’ of Indian PM Modi who deprived Kashmiris of their right thought an amendment on August 5 – the day when Modi laid the foundation stone of a temple.
He said Imran Khan has become of a lawyer of Kulbushan. Butcher of Gujrat has become butcher of Kashmir, he said questioning Imran Khan as to why he wanted Modi elected.
He listed feats of elected government under ex-president Asif Ali Zardari and former premier Nawaz Sharif like legislation for provincial autonomy and development. He also thanked the residents of Gujranwala and reminded the audience of sacrifices being made by the Jiyalas from Gujranwala.
Led by JUI-F Chairman Fazlur Rehman, PDM consists of more than 10 parties including PML-N, PPP and ANP. The first rally of the new political platform will be held today at Jinnah Stadium in Gujranwala.
