A Pakistani woman has approached Lahore High Court requesting to grant Pakistani citizenship to her Afghan husband, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Lahore High Court single bench on Friday recommended formation of larger bench to hear petition.

Justice Farooq Haider heard petition of woman Musarrat Jabeen.

The petitioner submitted in her application that under Pakistan's Citizenship Act 1951, if a Pakistani boy marries a foreign girl, she is given Pakistani citizenship.

If a Pakistani girl marries a foreign boy in Pakistan, citizenship is not given which is against the constitution and law.

The petitioner married an Afghan man Naseem, in 2012.
