Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) candidate Saba Talpur emerged victorious in the NA-213 Umerkot by-election in a commanding electoral performance, according to unofficial results from all 498 polling stations, reported 24NewsHD TV channel Thursday.

Talpur secured a whopping 164,788 votes, trouncing the opposition’s joint candidate Lal Chand Malhi, who managed 81,247 votes. With a massive lead of 83,541 votes, the PPP reasserted its dominance in the region.

Celebrations erupted within the PPP camp as party leaders hailed the result as a resounding endorsement of Bhuttoism and a public rejection of divisive politics.

Senator Sherry Rehman, PPP Vice President, congratulated the party workers and called it a “brilliant victory” that reignited the lamp of democracy. “The people of Umerkot have once again shown their unwavering loyalty to the ideals of Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Shaheed Benazir Bhutto,” she stated.

Rehman emphasized that this wasn’t just a win for Umerkot but a symbolic victory for progressive politics across Sindh, noting that the margin reflected "public confidence in the PPP’s vision of service and development."

MNA Dr. Nafisa Shah also joined in the chorus of congratulations, lauding the Talpur family and party leadership. “Even a coalition of 17 opposition parties couldn’t defeat the arrow,” she declared. “The people saw through the gimmicks and voted for genuine leadership.”

Shah praised Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Ms. Faryal Talpur, and all PPP activists for the landslide, stating it showed that PPP remains the people’s true voice in the face of “fake politicians and hollow promises.”
