Former PPP leader and senior Supreme Court lawyer Sardar Latif Khosa has joined the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), reported the 24NewsHD TV channel.

Addressing a press conference here on Sunday, Khosa stated that his decision to join PTI was driven by the desire to embark on a journey of happiness and contribute to leading the nation towards a better future.

Wearing a PTI flag around his neck, Sardar Latif Khosa also revealed that his decision to join PTI was influenced by the wish of PTI founder Imran Khan.

Defending his move, Khosa emphasized his commitment to rendering services for the betterment of the motherland. He remarked, "If rendering services for your motherland makes you a lunatic, then yes, I am a lunatic.

On September 22, PPP suspended the party membership of Latif Khosa, who represents the former PTI chairman in multiple cases, after he failed to reply to the show-cause notice issued to him by the party last week.

In a video shared by the PTI on X, a party member welcomed Latif to the party.

The development comes as the country gears up for the February 8 general elections.

Khosa praised Chief Justice of Pakistan Qazi Faez Isa for his efforts to ensure elections are held on time. He added that the CJP should also have ordered that the returning officers be appointed from the judiciary, instead of the Election Commission of Pakistan’s decision to appoint them from the bureaucracy.

He wondered why PTI Senior Vice President Sher Afzal Marwat was arrested from outside the Lahore High Court. “Can’t we even protect our guest,” Khosa said, adding that he was ashamed of the incident.

“Nation is waiting for the election day. Let them elect their leader,” he said, “I render my services to PTI.”

Referring to the Constitution, the senior lawyer said it was a civil agreement with the characteristics of a welfare state and the country has suffered whenever the Constitution was deviated from.

Advocate Intizar Sangota Advocate Shadab Jafri, Advocate Umeer Niazi, Tariq Shah Ghaga, Rana Aamir, Jamal Khan, Rai Faisal, Liaquat Ali Laghari, Daniel Sahotra, Asher Shajra, Abdul Samad Ali also announced to join PTI on the occasion.
