A Brazilian couple has officially been recognized as the longest-married living couple in the world, having spent more than eight decades together.

According to Guinness World Records (GWR), 105-year-old Manuel Anglim Dino and 101-year-old Maria de Sousa Dino have been married for 84 years and 81 days as of February 18, 2025. Their record was verified with the assistance of LongeviQuest, a website that tracks data on centenarians.

The couple first met in 1936 and tied the knot in 1940 in Ceará, Brazil.

Over the years, they have built a large family, with 13 children, 55 grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and 66 great-great-grandchildren.

While Manuel and Maria hold the record for the longest-living married couple, the all-time record for the longest marriage in history belongs to David Jacob Heller and Sarah Dewey Heller, who were married for an astonishing 88 years and 349 days after their wedding in 1809.

The Brazilian couple's remarkable journey together stands as a testament to love, resilience, and lifelong companionship.
