A youth attempted to commit suicide due to inflated electricity bills by climbing up to high-voltage power transmission lines near police lines in Islamabad, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Monday.

On information, police and the administration sprang into action and rescued the youth with the help of a crane.

It may be mentioned here that Pakistan has been witnessing countrywide furious protests against the exorbitant electricity rates and the rampant inflation fueled by record high petroleum prices.
