Rejecting the petition filed by Khadija Shah, a fashion designer and a diehard PTI supporter presently in jail on account of her alleged involvement in May 9 violence, seeking court order to the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to stop inquiry into the allegations of money laundering against her, the Lahore High Court (LHC) on Tuesday directed the FIA DG to submit his reply on December 22, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Justice Ali Baqar Najafi of the LHC barred the FIA from taking further action against Khadija.

The petitioner’s counsel Sameer Khosa Advocate appeared in the court.

Speaking on the occasion, Khosa said that his client, who had been nominated in different cases, was arrested in another case after she was granted bail in the previous one.

The lawyer argued that the FIA had initiated an inquiry into money laundering allegations against Khadija with a mala fide intent.

“What is the issue with the inquiry?” the judge inquired.

Khosa replied that the issue was there was no petitioner in the case against his client. “Therefore, it is prayed to the court to declare the inquiry illegal,” the lawyer said.
