Federal cabinet members expressed concerns over the absence of Finance Minister Shaukat Tareen from the meeting, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Tuesday.
According to sources, the finance minister has been skipping the federal cabinet meeting since the day he presented the mini-budget.
The members were anxiously waiting for the minister to get their questions answered, although he was in the federal capital. According to the insiders, a senior minister has been keeping a questionnaire with him.
The meeting took up the unavailability of urea. Senior ministers apprised the prime minister of the situation in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The premier convened a meeting over the matter. An MQM minister, Aminul Haq, registered his protest over the unavailability of gas in the capital of Sindh province while the minister concerned blamed the mess on industries.
