Health Alert: First poliovirus found in Lahore

The Federal Ministry of Health has given a confirmation of the first poliovirus in an environmental sample of Lahore on Thursday.
According to the 24News HD TV channel, the poliovirus was found in the sewage sample taken from Gulshan Ravi Disposal Station in Lahore on January 2.
The spokesperson of the Federal Ministry of Health Islamabad has confirmed that in the year 2023, the first environmental sample of polio has come back positive.
Federal Minister for National Health Services, Regulations, and Coordination Abdul Qadir Patel in a statement said the first national campaign of the year continues successfully.
The federal health minister said his government is committed to the success of the polio campaign and the desired goal will be achieved with the support of parents.
