Vice President Pakistan People's Party and Senator Sherry Rehman tweeted on the social networking website said that oil prices are falling in the world market but the government has not reduced petrol prices.

PPP Lawmaker said the government is levying a tax of over Rs. 27 per litre on petrol and over Rs. 33 on diesel.

Oil and Gas Regularity Authority (OGRA) recommended to the government to reduce oil prices but the government did not do so. Petrol could have been cheaper by Rs 5 to 8.

She said that why didn't the government reduce petrol prices? Why aren't the army of ministers giving the answer? On the other hand, electricity and gas prices are rising every month.

She further said that the government has increased the electricity tariff by Rs4.74 paisa in terms of fuel adjustment.  As a result, Rs 60 billion will be looted from the people in December.

Sherry Rehman said the trade deficit has reached a record high of 5 5 billion. They come on TV and say everything is fine. The PPP will hold nationwide protests from December 10 against inflation and a failed government.

It is in the interest of the country now for the government to step down, she added.
