Govt school books recovered from petrol pump in Khyber Bara

A large cache of government-issued textbooks, meant to be distributed free of cost to underprivileged students, has been recovered from a private petrol pump in Bara, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Monday.

The seized books, which bear the official insignia of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government, were intended for free distribution in public schools. 

Authorities estimate the value of the recovered textbooks to be over Rs 1.5 million.

Following the discovery, a criminal case has been registered against the truck driver believed to be involved in the illegal transport or storage of the books.

The incident has sparked concern about the leakage of educational resources meant for deserving students in KP and raised questions about oversight in textbook distribution.
