As many as five gunmen who were riding a motorcycle entered Bank Al-Habib branch located in Bara Bazaar in Khyber district and looted Rs10 million on Tuesday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

According to details, the robbers held the staff and customers hostage and looted all the cash. The bank is located about one kilometre away from Bara Police Station.

It is necessary to mention here that prior to this incident, Allied Bank suspended its operations in the area after two robberies incidents.

Soon after the incident was reported a heavy contingent of police reached the spot and started investigation.

Yesterday, a cash van belonging to Bank of Punjab (BoP) was looted on a busy road in Peshawar.

Three dacoits stopped the cash van on the GT Road in Hashtnagri area of Peshawar, got hold of the guards and looted all the cash in the vehicle.

The dacoits made their escape very good from the scene. They took away over Rs10 million with them.

The guards then drove the van to the nearest police station and lodged a complaint.

The police after recording their statements have launched an investigation into the incident.
