Islamabad United maintained their unbeaten streak in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2025, registering a fourth consecutive win with a commanding six-wicket victory over Karachi Kings at the National Stadium Karachi on Sunday.

Chasing a modest target of 129, United displayed confident and composed batting, reaching the home with six wickets in hand in 17.1 overs.

Captain Shadab Khan led the charge with a crucial 47-run knock. He was well-supported by the explosive Azam Khan, who contributed 31 runs, and Sahibzada Farhan, who added 30 to the total.

The trio ensured Islamabad never lost control of the chase, steadily dismantling Karachi's bowling attack.

Karachi Kings' bowlers made a few breakthroughs during the chase, with Hasan Ali taking two wickets and Mohammad Nabi and Abbas Afridi grabbing one apiece, but they had lacked the penetration needed to defend the small total.

With this victory, the defending champion Islamabad United now firmly sit at the top of the points table with a perfect record of four wins in four matches.

Their all-around consistency in batting, bowling, and leadership has positioned them as strong contenders for this season’s title.

Karachi Kings, meanwhile, continue to search for momentum. With one win from four matches, they now face an uphill task to stay in playoff contention and must improve both their batting depth and bowling effectiveness to stay competitive in the league.

Earlier, Islamabad United skipper Shadab Khan won the toss and opted to bowl first.

Karachi Kings Tim Seifert was the top scorer with 30 runs, followed by Abbas Afridi with a valuable 24 and youngster Saad Baig who contributed 20.

However, a lack of partnerships and regular loss of wickets hampered their ability to post a competitive score.

Islamabad United's bowlers maintained tight lines throughout the innings.

The pace duo of Naseem Shah and Jason Holder proved particularly effective, both claiming two wickets each.

Captain Shadab Khan also chipped in with two wickets, using his experience to stifle Karachi’s middle-order during the crucial overs.
