A popular saying goes, "Whom God protects, none can harm." This age-old belief played out in real life recently in China, where a nine-year-old girl survived a fall from the 25th floor of her apartment building with only bone fractures in what many are calling nothing short of a miracle.

The incident occurred on March 27 in Tangshan, northern China, when the girl, home alone in her room, opened a loose window to cool down and accidentally fell.

She plunged 18 floors before landing on a seventh-floor platform, according to the Beijing News.

Her mother, surnamed Shen, said the family realized something was wrong when her father went to call her for dinner and couldn't find her. “He looked out the window and only saw her slippers,” Shen said.

A seventh-floor resident heard a loud noise, discovered the girl lying on the platform, and alerted building management.

Despite the fall, the girl remained conscious and even managed

to walk a few steps before lying down in pain.

“When we found her, she was bleeding from the mouth and ears, with swollen eyes—but she was alive and alert,” said Shen’s colleague, Ai, who assisted in the search.

“Her first words to her mother were, ‘Mum, save me.’”

With local hospitals unable to provide adequate care, the family rushed her to Beijing Children’s Hospital, where she was diagnosed with fractures in her arms, brow ridge, and thoracic vertebra, but no brain injuries.

She underwent surgery and was discharged 10 days later.

“She is a true miracle,” Shen said. “Everyone believes she was protected by a higher power.

We were only relieved once her condition stabilized.”

The story has gone viral on Chinese social media, with many praising the girl’s resilience and calling for improved safety measures in high-rise buildings.
