The Federal Investigation Agency’s (FIA) State Bank Circle (SBC) has recovered foreign and local currency worth billions from the possession of Hundi/Hawala dealers during a raid on MA Jinnah Road, Karachi, reported 24NewsHD TV Channel on Saturday.

As the authorities’ crackdown on illegal foreign currency dealers is going on, the FIA team raided the shop of illegal Hundi/Hawala dealers situated in Wahab Arcade on MA Jinnah Road.

The FIA officials arrested three accused named Muhammad Shahid, Muhammad Hussain, and Abdul Rashid and recovered 32,700 US Dollars, 15,000 Saudi Riyals, 800 UAE Dirham, and PKR98 million during the raid.

The FIA officials informed that they successfully conducted a raid on the shop of an organized Hundi gang and recovered five mobile phones in which evidence of illegal Hundi transactions was found and also recovered several ledgers with entries of illegal payments.

The FIA has registered a case against the accused and further investigation is underway.
