Punjab police reach Peshawar to apprehend PTI leader Mian Aslam Iqbal

Punjab Police has arrived in Peshawar with the intention to apprehend Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) candidate for Chief Minister Punjab Mian Aslam Iqbal, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.
However, conflicting reports emerged as sources revealed that Aslam Iqbal has not been arrested yet and is reportedly present in the Speaker House Peshawar.
Various PTI leaders including the party candidate for Chief Minister Punjab Mian Aslam Iqbal declared absconders in May 9 case on February 15.
An anti-terrorism court in Lahore heard the case related to putting containers on fire at Kalma Chowk on May 9 and declared 11 PTI candidates’ absconders.
PTI leader Mian Aslam Iqbal earlier today moved Peshawar High Court (PHC) for transit bail.
Peshawar High Court had granted him transit bail and directed him to appear before the Lahore High Court within a fortnight.
Against this backdrop, Punjab Police maintained a visible presence near both the Speaker House and Central Jail, underscoring the intensity of the situation and the determination to execute legal proceedings.
