Hindu student found dead at Hamdard University hostel in Karachi

The dead body of a Hindu student was recovered from the hostel of Hamdard University in Karachi on Wednesday, while the police claimed that the student had died of natural causes two days ago, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

A resident of Shahdadkot, 20-year-old Amit Kumar was the only brother of three sisters and was a third-year student in computer science engineering.

Hostel Incharge Abid Hussain informed media men that Amin Kumar was residing in the hostel room alone for the last two months and another student Subhan alerted them about the incident.

Family member Raj Kumar said according to doctor’s preliminary examination Amit Kumar died of natural causes but, he said, the actual cause of death will be ascertained after the post-mortem report.

According to police, after completion of the legal procedures the dead body has been handed over to the heirs.

The police, however, said that they have collected evidence from the hostel room and are investigating the incident.

Rescue officials informed that Amir Kumar’s body was sent to his ancestral city of Shahdadkot
