253 health professionals infected by coronavirus in Pakistan

As many as 253 healthcare staff – including doctors and nurses – had so far been infected by the coronavirus, said a report released by the health ministry’s National Emergency Operation Centre on Thursday.
The list includes 124 doctors, 39 nurses and 90 other health workers, out of which 90 are in isolation and 125 in hospitals. Meanwhile, 33 of them have been discharged.
In Punjab, 53 doctors, 12 nurses and 18 health workers have so far been tested positive. 14 of them are in isolation and 61 in hospitals while eight were discharged.
The figures for Sindh include 19 doctors, 15 nurses and 22 health workers out of which 41 are receiving treatment with the rest being discharged.

Meanwhile, the four infected health professionals – a doctor and three nurses – of Azad Kashmir have fully recovered.
In Balochistan, 27 of them are in isolation and four being hospitalised as 24 doctors, one nurse and seven health workers had been found to be infected.
However, a doctor and a health worker died due to the coronavirus in Gilgit-Baltistan where the virus was found in 17 professionals – one doctor and 16 health workers. Fourteen of them are still hospitalised while one has been discharged.
One healthcare professional lost his life in Islamabad where the virus has affected 12 doctors, seven nurses and 12 health workers, as 26 of them are in isolation and one in isolation. Three of the patients have been discharged so far.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, one health professional is in a serious condition, as a total of four have been hospitalised with 25 others being in isolation.
A total of 14 doctors, four nurses and 12 health workers have so far tested positive for the virus in the province.
