Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has said that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has convened National Security Committee’s meeting on Thursday morning to review security situation after a series of actions taken by India against Pakistan, reported 24NewsHDTV Channel.

India on Wednesday suspended the Indus Waters Treaty (IWT) with Pakistan with immediate effect in the wake of the deaths of 26 tourists when gunmen opened fire on visitors in a popular destination in occupied Kashmir a day ago.

Taking to his social networking website X, Deputy Prime Minister said the National Security Committee will be attended by top military and security officers and government officials to review Indian government's statements.

During the meeting Pakistan will review the strategy to counter Indian propaganda and anti-Pakistan remarks.

In other announcements, India said the Attari border check post was closed, Pakistanis in India had 48 hours to leave the country, defence personnel at the Pakistani High Commission in India had a week to leave the country and staff at the high commissions would be reduced as well.

Meanwhile, Pakistan’s Foreign Office has started consultations to counter India’s diplomatic aggression. Foreign Ministry has decided to respond to diplomatic aggression in the same language.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will announce the decisions after receiving instructions from the high-level leadership. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will also give a detailed briefing in the National Security Committee meeting tomorrow. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will take the final decisions in light of the instructions from the civil and military leadership. Diplomatic relations with India to be further downgraded, Indian defense, air and naval attaches and supporting staff likely to be sent back. Indian defense, air and naval attaches to be declared persona non grata.

Pakistan’s Foreign Office also weighs to send back the staff of the Indian High Commission in Islamabad. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is likely to summon the Indian Charge d'Affaires to the Foreign Office soon.
