Former Pakistan skipper and Quetta Gladiators' all-rounder Shoaib Malik admitted that the team had made several mistakes in their first three matches.
In a media talk ahead of their match with Peshawar Zalmi, Malik expressed confidence that if those mistakes are minimized, the team can regain its rhythm and return to form.
Responding to questions about his place in the playing XI and criticism surrounding his continued participation, Malik replied that it was the job of the team management to talk about team selection and the playing XI.
“If I start validating everyone’s comments, life would become very difficult. There are other players who have represented Pakistan and are currently sitting on the benches of PSL franchises, but no one talks about them,” he noted.
Malik added that he would continue to play as long as he is contributing to his team. “The day I feel I’m not, I’ll step away.”
When asked about Quetta Gladiators' inconsistent performance in the tournament's early stages, Malik stressed the importance of fulfilling individual roles on match days.
Malik also congratulated the PSL on completing a successful decade and urged the PCB and franchise owners to reduce franchise fees and instead allocate more money to the players.
