Civil Servants Rules 1973 have been amended fixing quotas in the federal government jobs, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.

A notification in this regard has been issued according to which the section relating to quotas has been made part of the Civil Servants Rules 1973.

The jobs quota of Gilgit Baltistan and the erstwhile Fata has been separately fixed for four percent.

The jobs share of erstwhile Fata will be three percent which would not be merged in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s quota for the next ten years. Gilgit Baltistan will be left with one percent quota.

Punjab along with Islamabad will enjoy a lion’s share as they will jointly have 50 percent quota while the quota on merit will be 7.5 percent.

Sindh’s share in the federal jobs will be 19 percent in which 7.6 percent will go to Karachi, Hyderabad and Sukkur whereas the remaining 11.4 will got to the rest of the Sindh province.

The job quota for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will be 11.5 percent, six percent for Balochistan and two percent for Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
