The monsoon rains continue playing havoc with different areas of Sindh, leaving many villages submerged and mud houses collapsed, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.
The destructions of rain continue in Khairpur as several feet high water has accumulated on Medical College Road—Khairpur’s busiest highway.
Citizens including men and women, and the transporters too, are facing serious problems due to accumulation of rainwater on the road.
Moreover, three to four feet high rainwater has accumulated outside the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and Hepatitis Ward of Khairpur Civil Hospital.
Patients and their attendants are facing a great deal of inconvenience due to the accumulation of rainwater outside the hospital wards.
It is to be noted here that critical patients are brought to the ICU of the Khairpur Civil Hospital, and due to the accumulation of rainwater, patients are being shifted to the ICU on the shoulders of their attendants.
“We have made repeated calls to the Khairpur administration to remove the rainwater, but the administration is showing indifference, and they are not removing the water from the Civil Hospital,” said the medical superintendent of the hospital.
In Tando Muhammad Khan, the rain-hit people staged a sit-in against the authorities over not receiving any help and tents from them. The sit-in caused long queues of vehicles on both sides of the road.
In Tharparkar, rain continues in different areas including Mithi, Islamkot, Nagarparkar and Chachro, causing many mud houses in those areas to collapse.
The low-lying areas of Mithi and Chachro are likely to be inundated.
Moreover, there is an intense water pressure in LBOD Sem Nullah near Kaloi, and it is feared to experience a breach.
The land connection between Tharparkar and Mirpur Khas has been cut off, for the LBOD Sem Nullah has overflowed, and the bridge on it has come under water.
