PTI founder chairman Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi have challenged the verdict in Iddat case in district and sessions court in Islamabad, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Khalid Yusuf Ch advocate filed an appeal against the trial court’s verdict on Friday. The federal government and former husband of Bushra Bibi Khawar Farid Manika were made parties in the appeal.
Bushra Bibi pleaded that she was divorced in April 2017 and as a result she shifted to her mother’s house in August 2017. After a period of six years, an application was moved by her former husband Khawar Manika that her right to appeal does not apply after giving divorce three times.
She requested in the appeal that the trial court heard the case and sentenced her without its jurisdiction.
Bushra Bibi demanded that the decision in Illegal Nikah case was illegal, un Islamic, un-Sharia and contrary to justice. She appealed that the judgment of February 3 sentence in illegal Nikah case should be annulled.
It is pertinent to mention that the trial court had sentenced Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi to seven-year imprisonment in the case.
