PCB completes scrutiny procedure of clubs

The Deputy Chief Election Commission of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Wednesday rejected 95 percent of the decisions of the scrutiny committee, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The Deputy Election Commission (DEC) issued verdicts on the appeals of the clubs of the five zones of Lahore city.
In a surprise move, he had accepted 88 appeals out of 92 appeals of clubs in five zones of the city while only four appeals were rejected.
In another decision, the DEC cleared 25 clubs that had been declared bogus in the scrutiny process.
After the decision of the appeals, the number of cricket clubs in the five zones of Lahore city has increased to 201, of which 156 associate clubs and 45 affiliated clubs will have the right to vote.
After the appeals decisions, the Shalimar Cricket Association has become the largest association in the city with 48 clubs. The total number of clubs in Raiwind zone is 36, including 20 associate and 16 affiliated clubs.
City zone consists of 41 clubs including 34 associate and 7 affiliated clubs.
There are 32 Associate and 8 Affiliated Clubs out of 40 Clubs in Cannt Zone. Among the 36 clubs in the Model Town zone, 32 are associated and four affiliated clubs. After the appeal process is completed, the board will start the election process soon.
