The Punjab government has been depriving the persons with disabilities of their due share in jobs for , 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Thursday.

The provincial education department has 500 vacancies for the persons with disabilities, but the authorities have not bothered to make recruitments so far. For several days, visually impair person have been on protest against the government for turning a blind eye to the issue, but to no avail.

The districts of Punjab which have vacancy under the quota are Attock, Bahalnagar, DG Khan, Bhakkar, Chiniot, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Khanewal, Layyah, Muzaffargarh, Mandi Bahauddin, Mianwali Sargodha, Sahiwal, Sialkot and Vehari,

A couple of weeks ago, Federal Human Rights Minister Shireen Mazari said the government of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf had proudly formulated a legal framework to ensure the rights of persons with disabilities. She claimed by next month, a list of departments not fulfilling the job quota of disabled persons would be sent to the Prime Minister Office seeking penalty against them.

She was addressing the participants of an event in connection with International Day of Persons with Disabilities. Also, persons with disabilities from various parts of Punjab shows different skills at an event to mark the International Day of Persons with Disabilities 2021.
