Punjab CM tasks ministers, officers to monitor under construction projects

Caretaker Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi has entrusted the responsibilities to the ministers and officers for monitoring the under construction public welfare projects, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
CM Naqvi was presiding over a meeting held to review the ongoing upgradation projects on Sunday.
In this regard, Provincial Information Minister Amir Mir will monitor the General Hospital project while Ibrahim Hasan Murad will monitor Mayo Hospital, Wahab Riaz Dental Hospital, Dr. Javed Akram Children Hospital, Secretary Tourism Gangaram Hospital, Commissioner Lahore Punjab Institute of Cardiology (PIC) and Provincial Minister Dr. Jamal Nasir will monitor the projects of Rawalpindi.
The Chief Minister instructed the provincial ministers to visit the projects twice a day and submit daily report on WhatsApp.
CM orders timely completion of work at Shahdara Chowk Lahore
Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi Sunday visited Shahdara Chowk and expressed anger over the slow pace of work.
The Chief Minister said that despite the completion of the flyover project several days ago, there is concern due to the non-completion of work on Shahdara Chowk.
He said that all the work is stopped which is completely wrong. “Set a date and complete 100 percent work”, Muhsin Naqvi ordered.
Chief Minister Naqvi also ordered to complete metro bus service track including Shahdara Chowk side roads and park as soon as possible.
By January 5, the side streets of Shahdara Chowk and other works should be completed, Mohsin Naqvi directed.
He issued instructions on the spot to Secretary Housing, DG LDA, Commissioner Lahore Division, DG PHA CTO and Deputy Commissioner.
Provincial Minister Amir Mir, Azfar Ali Nasir, Secretary Construction and Communications and related officials were also present on the occasion.
10m driving licences issued in Punjab this year
In a tweet, posted on X platform on Sunday, Punjab Chief Minister said: “Alhamdulillah! Punjab surpasses 1 crore driving licenses in 2023! Appreciation for Punjab Police and PITB for their efforts in achieving this significant milestone in such a short time.”
