National Assembly Deputy Speaker Syed Ghulam Mustafa Shah has expressed concerns over unavailability of Cabinet ministers during question answer session in the parliament, reported 24NewsHDTV Channel.
Deputy Speaker National Assembly has written a letter to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Tariq Fazal Chaudhry and raised the issue of ministers' absence from the House during the Question Hour as a matter of concern.
Deputy Speaker's letter to the Prime Minister also refers the absence of ministers and parliamentary secretaries of the Ministry of Energy and Communications on March 20. He contended that the absence of ministers and parliamentary secretaries from the House is a clear violation of parliamentary traditions.
Deputy Speaker further maintained that the absence of ministers prevented discussion on important public issues. Deputy Speaker National Assembly urges PM Shehbaz to resolve the issue on urgent basis.
Deputy Speaker Ghulam Mustafa said despite the use of national resources, the purpose of the House's proceedings cannot be fulfilled due to the lack of interest of ministers. The letter maintained that according to the Constitution, it is the overall responsibility of the Cabinet to answer the questions of the members.
