Cabinet hails setting up of Loss and Damage Fund at Climate Summit

A crucial meeting of the federal cabinet began at PM House in Islamabad on Thursday with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in the chair, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Almost all the members of the federal cabinet including Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Defence Minister Khawaja Asif, Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, Ayaz Sadiq, Aminul Haq, Asad Mahmood, Malik Ahmad Khan, Tariq Bashir Cheema, Israr Tareen were in attendance.
The Cabinet members showered praise on the setting up of Loss and Damage Fund at the COP27 climate summit in Egypt, terming it a major achievement of the government on foreign front.
The Cabinet members also offered Fateha for the deceased mother of PM’s Principal Secretary Tauqeer Shah. They also prayed for the security personnel martyred in terrorist incidents recently.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is also expected to take his cabinet memebrs into confidence about the key Army appointments.
Earlier, PM Shahbaz Sharif had summoned the meeting of the federal cabinet on November 24 to discuss three-point agenda.
The cabinet members had been directed to attend the hurriedly-called huddle.
According to sources, a three-point agenda will be presented for approval in the cabinet meeting.
The Kisan package, the formation of the National Institute of Intelligence and Security Studies at Quaid-e-Azam University, and the interfaith harmony policy are included in the agenda that will be presented in the cabinet meeting for approval.
The issue of the key appointment of the army chief is also likely to be considered in the meeting.
According to the sources, PM Shehbaz Sharif will also host breakfast for the members of his cabinet.
