Mayo Hospital upgraded emergency to open in 45 days: CM Naqvi

Punjab CM Mohsin Naqvi Thursday announced the opening of the upgraded emergency block of Mayo Hospital in 45 days, the 24NewsHD TV channel reported.
Mohsin Naqvi visited Mayo Hospital and reviewed the progress of the emergency block upgrade project.
He directed the administration to complete the construction and upgrade projects at the earliest. He said that the old emergency block will be upgraded into a state-of-the-art emergency ward equipped with 210 beds. He announced that the emergency block will be made functional in 45 days.
He visited the Maqbool Ahmed Block of King Edward Medical University and appreciated the facilities provided. He said that King Edward Medical University’s alumni Dr. Maqbool Ahmed will be recommended for a civil award as he spent Rs2 billion for the construction of the block out of his own pocket.
Mohsin Naqvi reviewed the various sectors established in Maqbool Ahmed Block and appreciated the efforts and the quality of the construction.
The Construction and Communications Secretary and Health Secretary briefed about the construction works.
Punjab Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education Minister Dr Javed Akram, Vice Chancellor King Edward Medical University, Chief Executive Officer Mayo Hospital and related officials were also present.
