Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) is bringing around one million jabs of anti-coronavirus vaccine from Beijing on an urgent basis and two of its special flights have already landed back at Nur Khan Airbase in Islamabad, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
According to a PIA spokesperson, the third flight will reach the federal capital at 6:30pm today (Sunday).
The PIA on the orders of the Pakistan government is operating special flights to bring vaccine from China to Pakistan.
According to the PIA spokesman, two special PIA flights PK-6852 and PK-6853 arrived in Islamabad carrying coronavirus vaccine, while PK-6854 will reach Islamabad from Beijing Sunday evening.
After the increase in corona cases during the third wave of coronavirus, the Pakistani government sought help and decided to uplift anti-coronavirus vaccine from all-weather friend China.
The PIA spokesperson said that PIA is uplifting a million Covid-19 vaccine doses to fight the surge in pandemic in the country and the operation is being carried out on the advice of the National Command and Control Centre (NCOC) and National Disaster and Management Authority (NDMA) and the PIA will carry on performing its national duties in time of need.

The National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) had decided to open walk-in vaccination facility for citizens aged 60 and above.
Planning Minister Asad Umar said, “Starting Sunday, walk-in vaccination for those who are between 60 to 64 years old will be started. Walk-in for 65 and above has already been open. All those 60 and above who are registered go to your vaccination centre and get vaccinated. Vaccination is open on Sunday also.”
