The Swat Highway was temporarily closed for the public due to land-sliding to minimize the damage caused by dangerous debris falling from uphill, reported 24NewsHD TV channel Thursday.
By the order of the authorities, a diversion was made at the Palai interchange to exit the traffic coming from Islamabad and Peshawar because of the closed road.
The authorities closed the road at the point of Chakdara and stopped the traffic coming from Swat.
A spokesperson from National Highway Authorities (NHA) while talking to the media said that work on clearance of the Expressway has been started adding that people should avoid unnecessary travelling in the wake of erratic weather conditions.
He further said that in case of any query or problem, people may contact helpline number 130 for assistance.
