LGH doctors sucesfully remove needle from woman's lungs

The doctors of Lahore General Hospital have saved the life of a young girl by removing a needle stuck in her lungs without open surgery, the 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Saturday.
According to detail, a 22-year-old lady namely Tasmia Fatima was admitted to the emergency unit of the hospital in a critical condition due to shortness of breath and chest pain.
Her Chest X-ray (CXR) was conducted that showed one needle-like foreign body found in her right chest close to the spine and posterior chest wall.
Hailing from Bhimber, Azad Jammu Kashmir, Tasmia also told the doctors that she had a hijab "pin" accidentally stuck in her mouth, which later went through the throat into the lung and got stuck in the lung.
Dr. Irfan Malik, Associate Professor of Pulmonology immediately conducted her " Bronchoscopic Procedures " without anesthesia and saved the young girl from dying by removing the foreign body.
Post Graduate Medical Institute Principal Prof. Dr. Al-Fareed Zafar congratulated the team for conducting the successful procedure that saved the life of a lady. He also expressed his determination that the availability of medical facilities at LGH will be further enhanced to maintain the unique position of LGH.
The family of the patient expressed their gratitude for the successful completion of the complex procedure at LGH and appreciated the professionalism of the doctors at the General Hospital and thanked the doctors.
