The education department has withdrawn the notification of removing Islamic material from other syllabus books apart from the Islamic Studies books, reported 24 News HD TV Channel on Monday.

Governor Punjab Ch Muhammad Sarwar took serious notice of the recommendations of a one-member commission seeking to take out Islamic material from other syllabus books apart from the Islamic Studies book.

He stopped secretary schools from acting upon the recommendations of the commission comprising Shoaib Suddle.

On the directives of the Punjab governor, the human rights and minorities department has issued a new notification in this regard.

On Sunday, Speaker Punjab Assembly Ch Pervaiz Elahi met Governor Sarwar and discussed the matter with him.

PM’s special advisor Allama Tahir Ashraf also called on the governor at the governor’s house. Ruet-e-Halal committee chairman Maulana Abdul Khair Azad and Maulana Hafiz Jallundhi were also present in the meeting. The clerics expressed their gratitude on the intervention of the governor.

The governor assured the clerics that Islamic material would remain in other books and Islamic knowledge would not be confined only in Islamic Studies’ books only.

PM’s special advisor Allama Ashrafi demanded the governor to take strict action against those who are behind this ulterior motive.

They also offered prayers for India which is in the throes of a devastating second wave of covid 19 pandemic.
