Saudi woman becomes first to join security patrol in Hujana

Hujana, Saudi Arabia has drawn attention as it recently witnessed the emergence of its first young female security patroller. Selected as part of the security patrol, she utilizes camels for transportation.
Hujana has now crowned its first woman to formally undertake this mission.
According to international news agencies, the young woman appeared in full military attire, riding a camel, during a military parade organized by the Ministry of Interior on the occasion of its establishment day.
The Ministry of Interior shared a clip on its official account on the X platform about Hujana's participation.
Saudi artist Faiz Al-Maliki published a brief interview with Hujana on his official account on X platform to provide further information about her to the world.
Lieutenant General Mohammed Al-Bassami, Director of Saudi Public Security, stated that the presence of the Hujana Band of the Ministry of Interior in the Diriyah Governorate is considered a sign of heritage preservation and maintaining pace with the year 2024, marked by the presence of camels.
Al-Bassami further explained that the Hujana unit in the Diriyah Governorate will collaborate with other security patrols to maintain security.
The tradition of Hujana in the country dates back more than 90 years, established during the era of King Abdulaziz.
