The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) chief said on Thursday the corruption watchdog would proceed on the cases involving private housing societies and cooperative societies as per law.
Speaking at a meeting, Justice (R) Javed Iqbal said that government employees and pensioners were deprived of their lifetime savings by these private housing societies. He said that all regulators should take action against the fraudulent and unregistered housing societies. Justice Javed said the NAB recovered the looted money from Tasawwur Gilani, popularly known as Double Shah, and made him “Single Shah” again. He said this amount was distributed to people who had lost their money to Double Shah.
