The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has disqualified 24 former lawmakers, including 10 from the National Assembly, 7 from the Sindh Assembly, and 7 from the Balochistan Assembly, for failing to submit their asset declarations for the fiscal year 2022-23.

According to the ruling, these disqualified members will not be allowed to contest general elections, by-elections, or Senate elections until they submit the required asset details. As per the ECP’s decision, they will remain ineligible unless they file Form B containing their financial records for the mentioned fiscal year.

Among the disqualified members of the dissolved National Assembly are Khurram Dastgir Khan, Mohsin Nawaz Ranjha, and Muhammad Adil. Others include Rana Muhammad Ishaq Khan, Kamaluddin, Asmatullah, Samina Matloob, Naseeba, Shamim Ara Panwar, and Rubina Irfan.

From the Sindh Assembly, former members Adeel Ahmed, Hizbullah Bhugio, Arsalan Taj Hussain, Arif Mustafa Jatoi, Ali Ghulam, Tahira, and Imran Ali Shah have been disqualified.

Similarly, the ECP has disqualified several former Balochistan Assembly members, including Mir Sikandar Ali, Mir Muhammad Akbar, Abdul Rasheed Abdul Wahid Siddiqui, Sardar Yar Muhammad Rind, Mir Hamal, and Bibi Shaheena.

The decision marks a strict stance by the Election Commission, reinforcing the legal requirement for politicians to disclose their assets in a timely manner.
