KP announces 25% salary raise for provincial employees

Khyber Pakhtunkhawa Chief Minister Mahmood Khan Wednesday announced a 25 percent raise in employees’ salaries in the upcoming budget 2021-22.
He made this announcement in a press conference. He said the increase in the salaries would be applicable from June 2021.
He said they had not raised the salaries of the employees in the last budget due to financial constraints. He said despite the bad effects of Covid-19 on the economy, they have decided to raise the salaries of the employees.
He said they had promised about the raise and now they were fulfilling their promise made with the provincial employees.
The CM thanked the employees’ unions as they had supported the provincial government at every step. He also thanked his team for making this happen.
Mahmood Khan also announced raise in the minimum wage from Rs17000 to Rs21000.
He said his government was trying to uplift the poor strata of society.
