Punjab govt seeks plan on legal reforms, approves free travel facility for special persons, senior citizens and students, creation of 3904 posts in Punjab Crime Control Department

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz chaired 24th Provincial Cabinet meeting to approve key agenda items on various issues of public interests, reported 24NewsHD TV Channel. 

During the meeting, CM Punjab approved the construction of airports in Bhakkar and Bahawalnagar districts. The funds were approved for the construction of airstrip for Air Ambulance Service in District Bhakkar. During the meeting, CM was apprised about the proposal to launch Airline Service of Punjab. 

Punjab government also approved free travel facility for special persons, senior citizens and students in Punjab. She also reviewed proposal to issue transport card for students. During the Cabinet meeting, approval was granted for the establishment of special investigation units to curb sexual crimes. The Chief Minister directed effective measures to reduce the price of chicken. 

CM Maryam Nawaz ordered traffic department to ensure collection of traffic challan and made it clear zero tolerance policy will be adopted on non-payment of traffic challan fines. 

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz also sought plan for legal reforms committee. She directed that law officers should be appointed on merit so that finger should not be raised on recruitment process. 

CM Maryam Nawaz made it clear that pink salt belongs to Pakistan but other countries were benefiting from the salt by packaging it. 

Maryam Nawaz lauded positive response to the Ramazan package. CM Maryam was told that 25 lakh 64000 households have received the checks of Nighaban Ramadan 2025. Cm Maryam was told that ration cards are going to be given to 1.5 million households soon. 

CM Maryam Nawaz congratulated Salma Butt and the entire team for setting up the cheapest Ramadan bazaar. Maryam Nawaz Sharif gave approval to sign agreement with World Bank for grading system for students. 

The penalties for violation of Punjab Fertilizer Control Act have been enhanced. Fees for birth and death registration certificates waived off for one year. Approval of amendment in Punjab Legal Aid Rules were approved to ensure free legal aid to indigent and deserving persons. 

Maryam Nawaz rejected the proposal to ban two crops of rice cultivation in Punjab. Punjab Cabinet approved the plan to accommodate 664 visually impaired persons (VIPs) on daily wages. It was decided that steps will be taken for further social inclusion of visually impaired persons (VIPs). 

Punjab Cabinet approved the creation of 3904 posts in Punjab Crime Control Department. The CM approved recruitment on ad-hoc/contract basis for new Cardiac Center at Sheikh Zayed Medical College/Hospital, Rahim Yar Khan. Punjab government approved the creation of 32 new posts for Nawaz Sharif Center of Excellence for Early Child Education, Children Library Complex Lahore.
