Imran Khan provided all facilities as per jail rules: IG Prisons

Punjab Inspector General Prisons Mian Farooq Nazir has said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan has been provided all the facilities as per the jail rules, reported the 24NewsHD TV channel.
According to sources, Punjab IG Jails made a surprise visit to Attock District Jail to review the security and facilities provided to the inmates on Sunday.
He took a detailed review of the security and facilities being provided to Imran Khan during the visit.
After the visit, IG Prisons said that amenities such as bath soap, perfume, air freshener, towels, and tissue papers have been provided to PTI chief along with a bed, pillows, mattresses, tables, chairs, air conditioners, and exhaust fans."
Fruits, honey, dates, prayer mat, Quran, and books have also been given," he added.
He said that a new washroom has been built in the room of chairman PTI, whose walls are 5 feet high and a new door has also been installed, Western-Commode and wash basin have also been installed in the washroom.
Mian Farooq said that five doctors have been appointed as the chairman of PTI. A doctor is always on duty for eight hours.
Imran Khan is given special food after being checked by the doctors, he said adding that CCTV cameras are installed in his barrack for security.
Imran Khan meets the family on Tuesday and lawyers on Thursday.
Punjab Inspector General Prisons also visited the kitchen, hospital, juvenile ward, and extradition barracks.
He also met with the prisoners and enquired about the facilities being provided to them.
IG Prisons Punjab inquired from Imran Khan regarding the facilities provided in the jail, upon which Imran Khan expressed his satisfaction with the facilities provided and appreciated the cooperation of the jail administration.
Mian Farooq Nazir checked the performance, location, and privacy of the cameras installed in Imran Khan's barrack for security arrangements and found it correct as per the rules. The Superintendent Jail and all other officers and staff have been instructed to ensure that all the inmates in the jail are provided with all the facilities as per the law and that there should be no compromise or laxity in the security arrangements.
During this visit, a suitable place was identified for a utility store, where a utility store would be set up within a week, to provide quality items at reduced rates to the inmates and their families as well as the families of the jail staff.
Apart from this, the Internet library has also been directed to be completed soon for access to the educational and informational websites of the prisoners, the sources added.
