Kemari gas deaths: Police submit report to SHC

Police have submitted a written report to the Sindh High Court in the case of 18 deaths due to poisonous gas in the Kemari area of the provincial capital, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Tuesday.
Nine more cases have been registered on the court order, the report read, adding that Ali Muhammad Goth is a residential area but illegal commercial activities are being carried out.
The court was told that all the factories were being run without safety protocols, labour department registration and permit.
According to the report, the building control authority has confirmed that Ali Muhammad Goth was constructed without a layout plan and approval.
The postmortem report has not been received so far while statements of local residents and witnesses have been recorded, the lawmen reported, making a request to the court for time for the final report and challan.
