Four Maritime Affairs officers get one-year contract extensions

The federal government has granted a one-year extension in the contracts of four officers serving under the Maritime Affairs Division, following the approval of the Prime Minister. The Establishment Division has officially issued notifications confirming the extensions.
According to the notifications, Muhammad Faisal, serving as Engineer and Ship Surveyor at MMD Karachi, has been granted an extension, which will take effect from April 30, 2025. Similarly, Ali Tahir Nasir, a Ship Surveyor at MMD Karachi, has received an extension, effective from March 15, 2025.
Additionally, Wamiq Abrar Siddiqui, who holds the position of Chief Engineer at the P&S Wing, Karachi, has had his contract extended for another year, starting March 8, 2025. Meanwhile, Salman Raza, the Principal Officer at MMD Karachi, will continue in his role under the extended contract, which will take effect from March 12, 2025.
The contract extensions come as part of the government’s efforts to ensure continuity in key positions within the Maritime Affairs Division. These officers play a crucial role in overseeing ship inspections, engineering assessments, and maritime safety regulations in Pakistan.
