Pakistan, Russia agree to boost parliamentary ties

Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq called on Chairman of the Russian State Duma Volodin Vyacheslav Victorovich in Moscow on Thursday.
On the occasion Pakistan and Russia agreed to boost parliamentary cooperation between the two countries and in this respect both sides inked an agreement.
The agreement aims to enhance ties between the two legislative bodies and establish permanent cooperation mechanisms through parliamentary committees, commissions and parliamentary Friendship groups.
Speaker Ayaz Sadiq also met with the first deputy chairman council of muftis Damir Mukhetdinov at Moscow cathedral mosque. The speaker welcomed Russia's stance on Islamophobia and President Vladimir Putin's statement on respect for holy religious personalities.
